A Psalm of Yearning for More of God

My soul thirsts for more of You—only You satisfy my longing, only You restore my song.

O my Lord and my God
Hear me from Your Throne.
Fiery darts are hurled towards me
They are too much for me to bear.
Listen to my cries!
You are my hiding place
I take refuge in You.
I run into the Secret Place
There I meet You.
O God, You give me songs of deliverance
Your love and Your peace overwhelm me.
Hearing Your voice has become my singular quest.
My sole pursuit that You alone satisfies the greatest longing of my heart
A longing only You can fill.
My soul is thirsty, Lord
Take me deeper,
Deeper in love with You
This love will bring me into an intimacy with You...
My heartfelt longing.
O that I heeded Your commandments
then my peace would have been like a river
and Your righteousness like the waves of the sea.
Draw me closer to You
I desire to be more obedient to You
I want to do as You say.
As I gaze upon Your perfection and beauty
I suddenly see myself in a brand new light.
Woe is me!
My hidden faults come to the surface;
I acknowledge my sins.
My iniquities!
Have mercy on me!
I repent, O Lord
I repent.
You remember Your covenant with me.
You are my Deliverer.
I look into Your eye.
Your glance directs me in the way I should walk.
I will pursue You, O God.
Help me to lay aside every weight and the sin which ensnares me;
I will run with endurance the race set before me.
O God, my heart is steadfast.
You are the Vine
I am the branch.
I come in humility and with a heart of devotion to You.
All who follow Your precepts have good understanding.
I will meditate on Your Word and Your wonders to know You more.
Your Word is a lamp unto my feet!
Your Word is life!
I enter.
In the Secret Place I find greater joys of intimacy.
There I find You waiting
There I find release
So with all my heart I worship.
And unto You I sing:
“For You alone deserve all glory
For You alone deserve all praise.
Father, I love You and adore You
And I worship You this day!”
Lord, I am desperate for You.
My longing for You no words can describe.
I wait on You;
I sing to You a love song.
My yearning for intimacy with You breaks my heart.
My cries to You to answer my prayers
I cry day and night
You see every tear that falls;
You have bottled up my tears.
Do not be silent at my tears.
Do not cast me away from Your presence
Do not take your Holy Spirit from me.
I desire Your gaze;
Look upon me with grace and favour.
Such knowledge is too wonderful for me.
Show me Your way that I may know You
And find grace in Your sight.
In the Secret Place I simply come
All is stripped away.
You know the innermost secrets of my heart;
You want me to unveil my face before You
You want to see the real me -
The good - the bad - the ugly
You see the naked truth of my brokenness and my carnality.
YET - You accept me as I am.
Just as I am.
I submit to Your working in my life.
You know everything.
Lead me, O Thou Great Redeemer
I am a pilgrim through this barren land.
Lead me to pursue a loving relationship with You.
I cling to You desperately.
I desire an unbroken relationship with You,
my Lord and my Friend.
I surrender totally to You.
My heart burns within me as I walk this journey with you.
Not my will but Yours be done.
Come, Holy Spirit, fall afresh on me.
