A Psalm of Reflection on the Secrets of the Secret Place

To the Brothers & Sisters of LifeHouse SG

1. O God I sing praises for allowing me to know the secret place of the most high.
   That You Lord allow an unworthy sinner to abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
   I say Yes O God to your invitation, I say Yes Please.

   
   

2. I close the door on Worldly trifles,

   I look to You for rest and come in humility.

   I long to hear you speak with me, to shut out temptations,

   The distractions that surround me.

   Hear me O God and let me feel Your presence.

   
   

3. I long to hear You speak with me Lord,

   I ache for Your communion. Lord, forgive my babble

   Remind me that You furnished me with one mouth but two ears.

   I am ready to hear Lord.

   
   

4. I am but a hungry disobedient child, forgive me Lord.

   I need guidance to learn obedience.

   My foundations are shaky, I cry out for my Faith to be strengthened.

   I come to You God, I trust in You Lord.

   
   

5. O God, I repent. O God I ask for Your forgiveness.

   I confess that I am a sinner Lord,

   I desire to come out of darkness and into light.

   O God I repent, I repent.

   
   

6. Your Word is Power Lord, I have a heart to devour it daily in secret and in view.

   You see and hear all.

   I will not shy away from trying to do good in Your Name.

   With Your help and Grace, even in times of lack.

   I endeavour to sow and seek greater understanding of Your Word and Your timing Lord.

   
   

7. Enemies surround me and attack from all sides.

   My foes are many and have ungodly hearts.

   I do not fear, I do not shake but seek refuge in the secret place

   I rest in the shadow of the Almighty.

   
   

8. I choose to believe. I choose to follow. I choose to Obey.

   I have decided.

   Lord You have a purpose for me to fulfil

   You have a path chosen for me to walk.
   I seek earnestly to know the direction through closer intimacy with You.

   
   

9. Lord Your Path is the only one open to me.

   There is no high road or low road, only Your road.

   Human   Earthly   directions    are worthless.

   I have decided to follow Jesus, no turning back, no turning back.

   Everything I need is in You.

   
   

10. I raise a Hallelujah in the presence of my enemies!

    I burn with believe today.

    Fill my lamp with oil and let me shine for You.

    I ask for my fire to be kept alight. I seek Your voice

    I raise a Hallelujah.

    
    

11. O Mighty God increase the pace and intensity of my learning.

    Strengthen my faith, sweep me up, fill me with the Spirit, knock me off my feet

    Let me eat of Your Word, digest and find You there.

    Give me revelation, understanding and mystery.

    Grant me strength of faith and humility in service.

    All praises I sing to You Lord.

    
    

12. O Lord, Everything is from You and Everything is for You Lord.

    All riches and treasures are given by You.

    My life belongs to You Lord.

    All Glory is to You, I am a humble loving servant.

    I give praise and thanks for the gifts You bestow upon me.

    
    

13. Lord I praise Your Blessings that call a wretch like me to intercede.

    To guide me to bear another’s burdens.

    For me to ask Your help for my neighbour.

    For Your urging for me to pray for all people,

    that I may fulfil the Law of Jesus Christ.

    
    

14. O God I watch for the signs I know You send to me.

    I ask You grant me Wisdom to discern Your Will.

    I pray for strength to guard my heart and position myself to watch with a heart undivided.

    To hold fast and to glorify Your Name Lord.

    
    

15. Lord Your Glory shines so bright, Your mercies have no limits.

    Your Grace radiates with power beyond my understanding

    but I receive it Lord, I welcome its warming glow, its life, its pull, its overwhelming joy giving emissions.

    Shine forth O God, I wish to bathe in Your light.

    
    

16. Oh how I am learning to spend more time with You Lord;
    To put the troubles of the World aside and sit at Your feet.
    All praise to You on High.
    Handphone, TV and iPad rest now and cool down, I am giving this time to God in the Secret Place.

    I sow in Faith, not for reward but to learn peace and to experience His Shalom.

    
    

17. I desire to retreat into Your presence Lord.

    To learn what pleases You in me.

    Do I fast, do I refrain from food or things?

    I look for Your signs Lord, I look for Your revelations Lord.

    Open my eyes, ears and heart Lord, that I may know better Your desire of me.

    
    

18. I know that You record my life God, every detail You note and have ordained every step of my walk.

    I now journal my troubles, joys and experiences, the mundane and exciting.

    I write and document my conversations with You and I gather strength in Christ as I do so.

    Hallelujah.

    
    

19. My Journal now allows me to meditate on good things and offer praises for Your guidance Lord.

    This journal, my book of remembrance, filled with my ramblings mixed with cries to You along with Your revelations to me.

    Oh how wonderful that this will to write daily; words centred on You, has been revealed to me.

    
    

20. Your Holy Book is full of Truth, of hidden jewels for which I can search such that Your truths are further revealed.

    The interrelationships which abound throughout Your Word are a source of amazement for me.

    When I find, I feel elation, when I understand, I am humbled, I am energised in my spirit.

    
    

21. O Lord Your Words are Power, my enemies are crushed under them.

    With Your Words the sIck are healed, the sad can know joy, the dull can shine.

    You are well pleased when I, Your child, declare Your Scripture in prayer to You.

    You delight in the words and I in my understanding.

    
    

22. Your Words anoint my soul but my knowledge is lessened if I cut You short.

    You have given me two ears and one mouth, I ask for understanding of when to speak and when to listen, of when to leave, of when to know when You have finished our conversation.

    A realisation of when to go forth from the Secret Place, and to spread Your Gospel that day.

    
    

23. I believe the best time to commune in the Secret Place for me is when I am led there by You Lord.

    The time of Your choosing, of Your guidance.

    Morning or Noon or Night or all, I will be there waiting to offer You first-fruits and last fruits as I am able through Your Grace.

    I will be there to learn and to receive with gratitude, to be replenished with the Holy Spirit.

    
    

24. My enemies gather and sharpen their arrows.

    They collude and spread discontent.

    They gossip and scatter poison.

    I use Your Words of Truth as a temple.

    I pray the scriptures I seek the council of saints. I wear Your armour God.

    I don the Helmet of Salvation, Breastplate of Righteousness, Belt of Truth, Shield of Faith, the Shoes of the Gospel of Peace and I wield the Sword of the Spirit, Your Word O God.

    I pray forgiveness for them Lord.

    
    

25. I accepted Your invitation to deny myself and have found joy in the decision.

    I grow in my new disciplined goodness, I shout praises to God I have a clearer perspective, I see accelerating change, a discipline in coming to the Secret Place.
    I have opened my heart to hear You Lord, I am able to forgive and act with compassion through You Lord.

    
    

26. Lord I know that You are not bored by my repeated prayers, You hear every syllable.

    If I fall asleep in the Secret Place You know that I am resting in Your safe embrace, in Your sanctuary.

    Comfortable with my rock, my refuge, my all.

    
    

27. Dear God, am I beautiful to Your eyes?

    Do I reflect Your appearance and match Your expectations?

    Help me prepare myself as Your bride that You are desirous of me and I of You.

    I am Your beloved, Your Cherished, Your Sweetheart.

    Love me Lord, I am Yours.

    
    

28. I wish to be desperate for You Jesus.

    To grasp the hem of Your robe and seek Your Grace.

    A desperate heart is a delight to the Lord, a comfortable heart, a sorrow. Let me always delight You Lord.

    
    

29. I am hungry Lord, I desire nutritious food, I crave Your WordOpen my eyes that I may see wondrous things from Your Law, I will speak Your testimonies in the market place and not be ashamed, I will cleanse myself by taking heed according to Your Word.

    
    

30. I am learning to endure the naysayers, the sceptics and doubts sown by the evil one.

    I use Your strength to remain cheerful and exude Your joy in me

    This is the way I understand You command me, Your child, to live

    I thank God in all circumstances and don’t waiver in my faith whatever.

    I must endure hardships as a good soldier of Christ

    
    

31. In my confinement with You Lord I discover Your Presence.

    You are there in the deepest darkness with Your protecting hands.

    In confinement with You is a place of marvellous promises, You collect my tears, they are in Your book.

    My passion rediscovered, restored and strengthened.

    
    

32. Lord I seek Your face and Your Hand in the Secret Place

    I watch and wait for Your signal.

    David, Your servant, tells me to wait on You God

    My heart will be strengthened by You God.

    Wait, says David, Wait on the Lord.

    
    

33. Lord You interpret my tears, my liquid Words.

    Let me be sincere, my love be sweet.

    Help me cast away evil and cling to what is good, let me cry tears of honest joy.

    
    

34. Lord, I can live in Holiness by Your Grace, empower me Lord.

    Give me mercies according to Your hesed, cleanse me.

    I am a sinner, purge me, give me a clean heart that I may evangelise and walk the path You have laid out for my feet to tread.

    Impart to me Your Rhema and Logos and grant me understanding in my prayers to You.

    
    

35. Oh how I seek Your treasures Lord, I seek Your purifying fire.

    Allow me to purchase refined gold from Your furnace, Make me rich Lord.

    Allow me diligence to seek Your Word, fill me with hope, energise me with fresh purpose.

    Let me never lose the zeal to sprint into the Secret Place and to press into You God.

    Give me strength to pursue You with Joy and expectation.

    
    

36. Thank You Lord for I know You look upon me continually.

    You search me when we commune in the Secret Place.

    I welcome Your gaze Lord, I plead for Your countenance to shine upon me, and for you to relish in what You see.

    
    

37. ABBA Your boundless love for me is so amazing.

    O Jesus the cross took away all my sins, O Holy Spirit You came to me from the cross, Hallelujah Jesus Christ my living hope.

    
    

38. O Lord I rest in Your presence, I relax in You.

    My time in prayer focuses my very being on You alone, worldly things fall away and I rest.

    My stress is automatically reduced in Your presence.

    Calmness, comfort, composure You alone can bring.

    
    

39. Make me rich with wisdom Lord, Pour out Your treasures to me.

    Give me understanding of Your Word Lord, anoint me with true riches

    
    

40. I read Your Word as breathed into the Bible God.

    Let Jesus be visible to me on every page, let His message spring forth in every verse, let Jesus reveal Himself and gift to me understanding.

    
    

41. I stand in Your presence Lord, I await Your directions.

    Help me remain steadfast and not bow to Worldly pressures, I stand on Your victory ground, I fear none but You.

    I stand in Your presence Lord.

    
    

42. Let me shine for You Lord, give me oil in my lamp, keep me burning,

    Give me oil in my lamp, I pray.

    I sing Hosanna, I sing Hosanna, Let me shine for You Christ Jesus

    
    

43. I love You ABBA as I am commanded and as Your Child,

    I love You as You first loved me.

    I love my neighbour and my enemies,

    I love you with all my being. Let me feel Your hugs ABBA

    
    

44. I open my heart to You Lord, know me.

    Know my inner ugliness, know my sin.

    I invite Your light into the crevices of my heart,

    Come into my dark places and shine Lord.

    Know my love Lord.

    
    

45. Make me a lover who works, Not a worker who loves, Lord.

    I desire Your intimacy and You mine. Draw me into Your loving grasp.

    
    

46. I come as Your bride adorned for the lamb,

    To the Christ my bridegroom.

    Let my dimensions match that of my beloved,

    Full and complete in length, breadth and height.

    
    

47. In my troubles I cling to You Lord.In Your love, You embrace Your bride.

    Do not put me to shame, I cling to Your testimonies O Lord

    
    

48. Let us stroll together Lord, Let us walk hand in hand, I want to walk with You, talk with You, listen to You,

    To hear Your heart, participate in Your activities.

    Teach me, Husband, to walk with You

    
    

49. Anoint me Lord, pour oil upon me.

    Come Holy Spirit fill my reservoir to overflowing,

    Give me oil in my lamp, keep me burning,

    Let me shine continuously for You Lord.

    
    

50. Come Holy Spirit fill me afresh, fill me daily.

    Supply me with oil as fuel for my inner fire.

    Allow me to burn fiercely and with a pure heart,

    Let me shine a reflection of Your Glory.

    I will be a witness of Your light and Grace,

    I will sing praises to Your Name

    
    

51. God grant me the grace to find the path to abiding in You.

    I press into You, I pursue You with joyous abandon.

    Guide me to the river and let me drink,

    Quench my thirst, let me learn to abide in You.

    
    

52. I am surrendered to You Lord that we may be joined,

    Joined in the embrace of the Holy Trinity.

    God the Father, Jesus the Son and the Holy Spirit,

    I am in Your midst, in the centre of Your triple embrace.

    I accept the gift to be joined in union with You,

    I exalt You Lord Amen
